We thought we’d take a moment to share a quick update on how our first few weeks have gone since launching Greg Sloane Residential – and what we’re seeing in the local property market.
If you’re new here – hello! 👋 And if you’ve supported us already – thank you so much. Every call, every share, every kind word – it all means a great deal.
A Warm Start
We’ve listed 7 lovely homes so far – with another 4 on the way in the next couple of weeks. That feels like a really healthy number for us right now: busy enough to be excited, but not so busy that we can’t give each client the time and personal care they deserve. That’s the balance we’re aiming for.
What’s been particularly heartening is where the business has come from: recommendations, returning clients, and people who’ve done their research and decided we were the right fit. We’re so grateful – and we don’t take any of it for granted.

What’s Happening in the Market?
After a lively start to 2025, the Shropshire property market is beginning to settle.
In March, the average house price in Shropshire was just over £285,000 (Rightmove, 2025). Prime areas around town are seeing steady interest, especially for realistically priced family homes and properties close to good schools.
A big driver for the recent flurry was the stamp duty change which came into effect on 1st April. Lots of first-time buyers rushed to complete before the change – giving the market a real boost. Now, we’re seeing things level out again.
There’s still uncertainty around interest rates and the wider economy – and as a result, many buyers are being more cautious. If you don’t have to move, you might be holding off.
But that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong time to sell.
Where Things Are Heading in 2025
We think this year will continue to be a selective market. Homes priced realistically from day one are far more likely to sell in a reasonable timeframe.
For motivated movers, this can be a smart time to make a sell. If you can get sold and into a proceedable position to offer on your next property, then, with less buyers competition – this will work in your favour when negotiating on your onward purchase.
